Zach Stecklow

Ever since I can remember, I have always been captivated by sports. From playing soccer, baseball and basketball as a kid, to attending professional games as a fan, watching on TV, playing fantasy football, or debating with friends and family, sports have always been in my DNA.

In choosing the right college, I was looking for a University with both a strong athletic department as well as a top Sports Business program, which I found at the University of Florida. My academic goal is to become a well rounded student with principles of business yet specialties within the sports world. I will also use all the resources on campus to gain additional insights out of the classroom that can help my career such as working with the University Athletic Department at various UF sporting events, attending one-day seminars with professional teams, as well as learning valuable insights from alumni working in the sports field.

I heard there used to be a sign in the NFL league office cafeteria that said, “you don’t have to wear pads to have a job in sports”. Well, upon graduation I seek to land a role in sports ideally with a league, team, venue or sponsor brand where I can use the passion of sports fans to drive business goals.
